People – cripped or not – wince at the word ‘crippled’ as they do not at ‘handicapped’ or ‘disabled’. Perhaps I want them to wince.” Nancy Mairs

We aim for the event to be an intervention, and we want it to be disabled centred. Due to the current coronavirus situation, we have not been able to secure enough funding. This has limited our plans for the conference. In particular, we have not been able to pay all our speakers, and BSL interpreters (their full fees). They are predominantly disabled and BAME/POC (Black and Minority Ethnic). Being a disabled-centred event, we believe in paying fairly and justly those who have worked for the event. Therefore, we are raising funds to make sure that all speakers and BSL interpreters are paid properly for their contributions. Please help us by donating generously.
